The Connection Band

Welcome to the website for the Connection Band. We are a 4 piece group of musicians from central Oklahoma, with a wide variety of music; classic country, new country, classic rock and oldies. Venues include central Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City, Norman, El Reno, Enid, Guthrie, Stillwater, and Crescent.

The Connection Band has been playing since 1991. Naturally, members have changed throughout the years, but the name has changed only slightly. Some would remember us as playing under the name of 'Southern Connection Band' for a few years. After changing band members and revamping somewhat, the newer name of 'New Connection Band' came along. The 'New' was dropped eventually, mainly to make room for the band's name on advertisements, marquis signs, and banners.

We mourn the passing of our beloved Kevin McDowell, guitar player for The Connection Band for 19 years. Kevin passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, from pneumonia complications. This was very sudden and unexpected, and we will miss him terribly. Please keep his family and us in your thoughts and prayers as we try to come to terms with this tragic loss to our group. We will miss you, Kev.
